Ronald Heyward June 27, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Ronald Lewis Heyward, aka Ronnie, departed this life on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the son of Julius and Barbara Heyward. Ronnie was born on August 11, 1959 in Elmira, NY. He was predeceased by his father Julius on June 6,2004 and his mother Barbara on September 11, 2003. Ronnie graduated in 1979 from Southside High School in Elmira, New York. While attending Southside, Ronnie played football and was also on the basketball team. He was a naturally talented individual who found great comfort and pleasure in playing his bass guitar. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ronnie was also a gifted drummer and grew up playing baseball on the team coached by his father. Ronnie was employed with US Airways holding a number of positions with various duties and responsibilities for over thirty years. Ronnie was known for his charming smile, pleasant personality and keen organizational skills. Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories his siblings; Paula Darlene (Wilbert) Delaney of Marble Falls,TX, Julius Bernard Heyward of Charlotte, NC, Kenneth Fredrick(Usa) Heyward of San Antonio, TX, Michelle Marie (Claude) Oliver of Elmira, NY, Richard Dean(Lisa) Heyward of Syracuse, NY. He also leaves to cherish his memory his former wife of seven years Audrey Heyward, step-daughters; Crystal Ryans of Springfield, MA, Patrice Hayes of Colombia, SC. Grandchildren; Aaliyah, Nyasia and Daisha Hayes all of Colombia, SC. And a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
