John E. Calderia Jr., 68, of New Castle passed away Sunday, July 20, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 15, 1950 in Arkansas to the late John and Madge (Presley) Calderia, Sr. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served during Vietnam. He retired from Culligan Water Softners in 1996 after 14 years of service. John formerly worked at Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit. He was an avid collector of model cars and dragons. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Connie S. Acton of New Castle; son, Robert (Paulette) Calderia of Madison Co. Louisiana; daughter, Vicky of Oregon; two grandchildren, Johnathan and Christina Shocey; a sister, Gail (Jim) Masten of New Castle; two nephews, Johnny and Kevin Masten; and a niece Tressa Masten. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2019 at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
