Hawkins, 77 of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00am from the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Natchez, MS under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery in Vidalia, LA with Pastor Eddie Schiele officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Hawkins, daughter of John and Mary Carter Hawkins was born in Natchez, MS and died at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. She was a retired teacher for the Concordia Parish School System. She is survived by one son, Anthony Hawkins and his wife, Lana of Ferriday, LA; one daughter, Trinona Phenix of Monroe, LA; two sisters, Rita Battle and Madeehah “Melba” Muhammad both of Chicago, IL. Also five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a special friend, William “Tiny” Bradsaw of Chicago. And numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.
