Rogersville: George Leslie Rush, age 69, of Rogersville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at his residence after a brief illness. George was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Rush; sons, Jimmy Hughes, Steven Hughes and Dannye Rush. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Wanda Kennedy Rush; daughters Ginger Strohm and husband, Bill of Jonesbourgh and Sheila Mayes of Williamsburg, VA; sons Casey Rush and Martin Hughes, both of Rogersville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 2, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Seaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Persia Community Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hawkins County Color and TN Army National Guard.
