Johnny J. Walker, age 86, of Morristown, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Serenity Hospice House. He was a member of Roe Junction Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Johnny was a retired Boilermaker with TVA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delsie Walker; son, Donnie Walker; parents, Jonah H. and Ida Isabelle Walker; sisters, Estelle Taylor, Mary Holloway, and Martha Walker; and brothers, James Walker, Clarence Walker, Paul Walker, and Isaac Walker. He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Walker Russell and Darla Walker (Jackie) Norton; son, Johnny J. Walker, Jr.; brothers, Robert (Georgia) Walker and Earnest (Sandra) Walker; sister, Nona (Boyd) Chandler; special friend, Faye Donaldson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice and the staff of Serenity Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday, August 3rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Howard Shipley officiating. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery with Military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Serenity Hospice House in memory of Johnny J. Walker.
