Eugene’s Obituary Eugene L. Cottingham, 87, of Crothersville, IN left his earthly home, to go to his heavenly home, to meet his Lord and Savior at 12:25 PM on Monday, July 22, 2019. Eugene was born on February 19, 1932 to Adrian and Ethel (Ransom) Cottingham. Eugene was a 1950 Paris Crossing High School graduate. He served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. On July 3, 1954 in Uniontown, IN, he married Mary Frances Cottingham, who preceded him in death on December 25, 2008. Eugene retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1990 after 15 years of service. He attended the Austin Wesleyan Church, enjoyed fellowshipping with other Christians, listening to southern gospel music, singing, gardening, and was known for his soft spoken voice, wisdom, and riding his bicycle all over town. He read his bible and devotional books faithfully. Eugene was a witness and shared the love of Jesus. His favorite saying was, “It’s all about Jesus”. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Eugene is survived by his daughter, Karen (Michael) Maschino of Commiskey, IN, son, Max (Nancy) Cottingham of Crothersville, IN, 5 grandchildren, Derrick (Kenda) Maschino, Mark Maschino, Mack Cottingham, Charity (Cheryl) Cottingham, and Benjamin (Ayrika) Maschino, 5 great grandchildren, David Maschino, Lydia Maschino, Logan Cottingham, Owen Maschino, and Josie Maschino, sister, Jessie (Billy) Deaton of Crothersville, IN. Eugene was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant sons, Michael Eugene and Samuel Wayne Cottingham, wife, and 3 brothers, Robert, Everett, and Lawrence Cottingham. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery with a military graveside service conducted by. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and after 10:00 AM on Friday all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
