Bartholomew’s Obituary Elton- A Mass of Christian Burial for Bartholomew “Bobby” Pickett, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019 with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to all. He was a devoted husband to his wife, JoAnn, for 55 years. Bobby enjoyed gardening, hunting, traveling, sight-seeing, barbequing and working on his cars. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles, as well as, a member of Knights of Columbus. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family. He served our country for four years in the United States Army and then one year in the National Guard. He loved his two baby girls, Maggie and Zoe. Bobby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish Bobby’s memory include his wife, JoAnn Rachal Pickett of Lake Charles; two sons, David Pickett and wife, Gloria, of Thickett, TX, and Kevin Pickett of Lake Charles; one daughter, Donna Pickett Landry of Lake Charles; two brothers, Henry Pickett and wife, Anna Mae, of Elton and Jerry Pickett of TX; three sisters, Beatrice Langley of Basile, Addie Mae Milligan of Bunkie, and Anna Lee LaBove of Basile; three grandchildren, Keith Pickett and wife, Annie, of Washington State, Mark Pickett of Dayton, TX and Cadie Pickett of Thickett, TX. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Shelton and Mattie Pickett; nine brothers, Harold, Charles Lee, Robert Lee, Marion, Lonie, John Floyd, Earl, Rodney, and Shelton Pickett, Jr.; and one sister, Louise Adams.
