Obituary Wayne C. Knesebeck, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020. He was the son of Otto and Alice (Patterson) Knesebeck born on May 26, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio. He noted in one of his last conversations, “I’ve had a pretty good run – 90 wonderful years, and then 2020!” He is survived by sons, Wayne (Peggy) Knesebeck, Donald (Jeanette) Knesebeck, Thomas Knesebeck , daughter Nancy (Nick) Blasius, grandchildren Kristen (Kevin) Duncan, Mark (Nicole) Knesebeck, Katie McVey, Brian Blasius, Kevin Blasius, Jeffrey Knesebeck, Jenifer( Richard) Woodman and Josh Knesebeck and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; son, Gary and his parents. Wayne lived a life based upon “old school” values: honesty, loyalty, and hard work. He was a loving son, a devoted husband and a caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a good friend, and had a gift for bringing cheer to everyone he met. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his kind heart, giving spirit, sense of humor – and for his whistling. (His presence was always announced by this ever-present “gift”, including pop hits, hymns, and his favorite Ohio State Marching Band selections!) Wayne graduated from Collinwood High School, and later served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married in 1952 to Ann, and enjoyed a wonderful life together for nearly 68 years – until her sudden death this past June. He was employed by the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for over 40 years – first as a lineman and ultimately as a foreman — retiring in his early 60’s to enjoy a life of traveling and making good memories with several long-time friends. In all he did, he managed to make the most his situation, and found happiness in the simple pleasures. He will be sorely missed! Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday December 22, 2020 at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield.
