Tim’s Obituary Timothy Roy Hancock was born August 23, 1953 in Columbus, GA to William Roy and Martha Jones Hancock. He went home to be with the Lord November 28, 2020 in Milledgeville, GA. He was preceded in death by his father William Roy Hancock of Milledgeville as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother Martha Jones Hancock of Milledgeville, Brothers Steve (Valerie) Hancock of Doraville and Joe (Karin) Hancock of Milledgeville, sister Jenny Hancock of Milledgeville, nephews Daniel Hancock of Doraville and Samuel Hancock of Milledgeville, Aunt Hazel Colson of Warner Robins and many cousins. Tim grew up in Jacksonville, Florida graduating from Wolfson High School before attending Florida State College at Jacksonville where he played flute in the band. He loved the ocean and loved surfing. He had a great appreciation for music, art and literature and he loved to share his life experiences with others. Tim was kind and very thoughtful of other people, easily making new friends while also maintaining lifelong friendships with others. He had an amazing memory. Tim enjoyed writing letters to other people and he would often plan gifts he wanted to give to people months or years in advance. He enjoyed spending time with family. He was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and talked naturally to people about Jesus. Tim was a member of First Baptist Church in Milledgeville. Graveside services will be held at Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery in Wilkinson County, GA on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM and will be officiated by Reverend John Cotten. Those attending are requested to social distance and to wear masks. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Georgia chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Georgia).
