Archambault December 26, 1924 – December 18, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Rene Archambault, known to his family as “Papa”, passed away on December 18, 2020, at the age of 95. Rene is survived by his daughter Dianne Archambault, son David Archambault, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Gary Archambault, and the love of his life, Lucy Archambault. Rene was born in Fairview, MA on December 26, 1924, to Rose and Edgar Archambault. He was the eldest of three children. His sisters are Janet and Loraine, and he is survived by his sister Loraine. Rene was a veteran of WWII, trained as a medic and served in a field hospital located near Warrington England. During the war he was privileged to work alongside of the African American Army Nurses Corp. at the field hospital caring for critically wounded soldiers. The most important thing to know about Rene (Papa) was his kind and compassionate heart, and his love and dedication to his wife Lucy of 66 years and to his family. Rene (Papa) was always a giving person offering his help to anyone and everyone that needed it. He never expected anything in return — he was a completely selfless man. A role model and inspiration to all who were privileged to know him. The content of his character was our guiding light. Papa will be missed by all.
