Helen Ruth Alley Jones, formerly of El Reno, was born in Mason, Oklahoma in January 1931, and passed from this life on April 7, 2020, of natural causes. Helen Ruth was 89 years young. Helen Ruth, was married in 1950 to Robert Jones and together they had five daughters, Deborah, Cynthia, Marilyn, Peggy, and Carolyn. While raising her five daughters as a single mom she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education. She began her teaching career at Oaks Elementary School, in Okemah, Oklahoma, and continued teaching there until retirement in the late 1990’s. Upon retiring in the late 1990’s she spent time with her grandchildren, gardening, touring places near and far and writing in her journals. Helen was a devoted follower of Christ and was a member at Trinity Baptist Church in El Reno until she moved away from the community. Helen Ruth is survived by her five daughters, Deborah Carnicom, Cynthia LeMoine, Marilyn Jones, Peggy Duncan with husband Rodger, and Carolyn Jones; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Talmadge Alley; sister, Ruby Griffith, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Cerillar Alley; three brothers; and five sisters. A private burial will be held at Schoolton Cemetery in Cromwell, Oklahoma for Helen Ruth Jones. Viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in El Reno, Oklahoma, Monday, April 13 from 1:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. and Tuesday, April 14 from 1:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Helen will be held at a later date at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
