Mrs. Claudette Lunsford Harper, age 87, of Eastman, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. Due to CDC recommendations, a private graveside service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2020 with Dr. Paul Cowles officiating. Mrs. Harper was born June 16, 1932 in Eastman, Georgia to the late Annie Maude Maddox Lunsford and Claude T. Lunsford. She was a member of Eastman First United Methodist Church and former Sunday School teacher for the W.W. Carter Class, retired comptroller for Three Rivers Home Health Services, former Orphans Cemetery Trustee, and former member of the advisory board for Three Rivers. She is survived by children, Kathryn Harper Pingel and Michael Harper; grandchildren, Kristen Pingel Moreland (Scott), Timothy Pingel (Denise); great grandchildren, Daniel Moreland, Andrew Pingel, Emily Pingel; daughter of the heart, Diane Lemley; grandchildren of the heart, Marla Smith, Allison Beck Ryals, and Brandon Beck. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Herschel Harper, son, Cecil D. Meeks, and son-in-law, Lt. Col. Frederick C. Pingel. In Lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Eastman First United Methodist Church. Hardy-Towns Funeral Home of Eastman is in charge of arrangements. www.hardy-towns.com
