Carrie Helen Reed Winkler passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2020 at the age of 98 after a short hospital stay. She and her husband, Ward J. Winkler was married for 61 years before his passing in 2004. She out lived her Mother Rhoda Reed, Father Frank Reed, Brother Harold Miller, Sisters Ruth Oakes and Betty Hamilton. She is survived by her five children Faith W Levering (Paul), Ward J Winkler (Paula), Mark L Winkler (Jerrie), Neil S Winkler (Keyna) and Hope W Treadway. Also, 18 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grand Children and 1 Great Great Grand Child; Sister-in-laws Joan Mohler and Jane Winkler ; Nephews Dick Miller & David Oakes, Nieces Becky Immel & Patty DeVille and other nieces and nephews in Ohio and Florida. She was a very loving, wonderful and caring person to everyone. She was very active in her church, Cokesbury United Methodist, until her health started to decline. She was a member of Cokesbury for 62 years which included Prime Timers and the Women’s Society. She was a homemaker and Mother to five children. She was involved in philatelic world along with her husband for a number of years. After raising the children she decided to work part time for Elders Care for several years. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 6701 Idlewild Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212. Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home is handling the cremation. Due to the Coronavirus a Memorial service will beheld at a later date. Carrie will be placed next to her husband Ward at Sunset Memory Gardens.
