Obituary Audrey M. Settles, 86 of Clayton, passed away March 5, 2020. She was born on March 9, 1933 in Belleville to the late Lyman Thomas and Mabel (Kenworthy) Mitchell. Audrey graduated from Clayton High School in 1951 and married Charles L. Settles, Jr. on June 3 of the same year, in the same week. She was a homemaker and always the wife of a dairy farmer. Later she worked in retail and several years as a cashier for Kroger and at Cox’s Plant Farm. Audrey was a member of the Belleville Bible Church and the National Holstein Association. She enjoyed gardening, baking and decorating cakes for special occasions. She also enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Vickie Justice (Bruce) of Plainfield, Gene Settles (Denise) of Clayton; brothers, Clyde Mitchell (Judy) of Clayton, Melvin Mitchell (Lillian) of West Middle, PA.; grandchildren, AnnaMarie Settles and Carter Settles. Her parents, husband, daughter, Anita Andrews and 6 siblings, Don, Wayne, Kenny, Larry, Loren Mitchell and Wilma Anderson, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in the Clayton Cemetery.
