Born in South Hilo on June 21, 1946, he was a bus driver for Robert’s Hawaii and Grayline; and a groundskeeper at the former Kona Surf Resort. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. August 31, 2019 at Lanihau Ranch on Henry St. across from Crossroads Professional Building in Kailua-Kona. The entrance to the ranch is to the right of Queens Coffee. Celebration of life will begin at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire. He is survived by his wife, Alice Loando Kanoa of Kailua-Kona; sons, Bert (Seveanita) Kanoa of Kapaau and Bradley Kanoa of Mt. View; daughters, Juanita (Chad) Smith, Bernalyn Kanoa and Ipo (Trenton) Johnson, all of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter, Amanda Caron of Kalaoa, Kona; brothers, Arnold (Jerri) Lum of Waimanalo, Oahu and Gerald (Jerri) Lum of Maui; sister, Sandra (Paul) Dias of Laupahoehoe; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; other siblings, Lawrence, Albert, Charles, Jeanne, Florence, Beatrice, Mildred, Carol and Joyce; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
