William’s Obituary MOONEY, William D. – of Otisville, age 83, passed away July 30, 2019. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd., Burton, MI 48519; Rev. Bruce Billings and Rev. Dr. Sang Chun co-officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church. William was born in Freelandville, IN on July 19, 1936, son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Berry) Mooney. He married Viola Hallett on November 21, 1955. William retired in 1978 after working for the City of Flint. He was a member of Atherton United Methodist Church for 57 years. William played softball for over 38 years and was a commissioner for one year. He loved fast-pitch softball and golfing. William is survived by his wife, Viola; children, Mike (Sandy) Mooney of Otisville, Bill (Carol) Mooney of Otisville, Theresa (Roman) Lewandowski of Tuscon, AZ, Cindy (Dale) Schaaf of SC and Shawn (Byron) Norris of Otisville; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Smith, Jaccia Sager, Judy Teeter; baby.
