Hollnagel, age 80, of Warba, MN passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his home. Wilbur was born in 1938 to Russell and Helena Hollnagel in Mankato, MN. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1956, Mankato State University in 1966, and New York University (Madrid) in 1969 with his Master of Arts/Spanish Literature. Wilbur married Andrea Moen in Mankato in 1966; they later divorced. Wilbur served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958-1962. He taught at schools in Faribault, MN and San Antonio, TX. In later years, Wilbur was happy living on a small farm in Northern Minnesota and working for the Minnesota State Historical Society in Grand Rapids, MN. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margie Suess and Betty Benner; and brother, Roger Hollnagel. Wilbur is survived by his sons, Daniel James of Scottsdale, AZ and Jorgen Arthur of Salt Lake City, UT; grandsons, Erik Ragnar and Kirk Merl; sisters, Brenda Ferris of Wilmington, DE and Dorothy Mumma of Mankato, MN; and brother, Jerry Hollnagel of Florida.
