Schroeder, 78, died Tuesday morning July 16, 2019 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry. Born March 9, 1941 in Newberry, son of the late Henry and Almeda (Friske) Schroeder, Wayne was a 1959 graduate of Engadine High School. Wayne worked with his brother Ronald in the residential construction industry and later owned and operated Wayne F. Schroeder Construction for over 45 years until present. Wayne was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine, the Experimental Aircraft Association and enjoyed science, aviation, tractors and trains. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his brother Ronald and brother-in-law Donald Hewitt. Survivors include his sons Daryl of Springboro, Ohio and Kent (Kristine) of Iron Mountain; grandchildren Nicholas, Rachel and Benjamin Schroeder all of Iron Mountain; great-grandson Louis Schroeder of Menominee; longtime companion Ellen Farone of Naubinway; sister Judith Hewitt of New Buffalo. Friends may call at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine on Monday July 22, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm at the Engadine Cemetery with Pastor Kyle Kuehl officiating. Condolences may be expressed at www.beaulieufuneralhome.com.
