He was the son of Dorothy Pratt Burt and the late Carl Burt. He was a former employee of Mount Hope Finishing Company. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Pratt Burt; two sisters, Sallie Yates and Gayle Wright both of Oxford; and two brothers, Charles Burt and James Burt both of Creedmoor. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 17 at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the home of his mother, 104 N. Allen Street in Creedmoor.
