Wanda Green February 02, 1929 – July 10, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Wanda Green departed this life on July 10, 2019 at her home in Lewisville, AR, after a lengthy illness. She was born February 2, 1929 in Wolfforth, Texas to Theo and Lucy Bailey. Her family moved to Lewisville in the 1930’s and it was here that she met and married the love of her life, Otho Green. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Veva Alderson; two brothers-in-law; and her husband of 64 years, Otho. Ms. Wanda is survived by her children, Donna Powell (Doyle) of Patmos, AR, Debbie Bright (David Ray) of Stamps, AR, Randy Green (Sandra) of Apopka, FL, and Dennis Green (Pam) of Lewisville, AR; sister, Vera Pompa; three brothers, Kenneth Bailey, James Bailey and Larry Bailey. She was blesses with fourteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her grandchildren are Angie Powell Vickers (Mike), Shane Powell, Chris Powell (Breanna), Charley Bright (Mandy), Anna Bright Taylor (Trea), Amber Green Callahan (Paul), Andy Green (Lisa), Crystal Green Tomlinson (Jeremy), Austin Green (Brittney), Carrie Green Gardner (Spencer), Caitlyn Green, Adam Green, April Green Helmick and Jeremy Green (Ashley). Ms. Wanda was a faithful Christian who worshiped at the Lewisville Church of Christ. She truly exemplified the woman in Proverbs 31. She rose early and tended to her household, worked on the farm and opened her home to many; she was known for her hospitality. Her children and grandchildren rise up and call her, “Blessed”. She loved her flowers, especially roses and her love of bright colors and a little bling is reflected in her quilting. She loved to cook, make jelly and can her fresh produce. Most of all she loved people and had fun no matter the task at hand. She had an infectious laugh and smile even when dealing with ill health and she never complained. Ms. Wanda had close relationships with her many nieces and nephews, but she and her niece, Larinda Lee, had a very special bond. Her close and special friends are Margie Chastain, Betty Patten ad Betty Moses. Ms. Willie Mae Pree was her long-time friend and became her caretaker; our family is blessed to have her in our lives. She took care of our mother with laughter and loving hands and she has been the glue that has kept us all together. We are thankful that God provided Ms. Willie Mae to us. We want to thank Lafayette County Ambulance Service for all of their excellent care in our many emergencies. Also, we would like to thank Hospice of Texarkana. Although many nurses and aides have come to the home, we want to especially thank Emma, Kim and Antoinette for the loving care you provided for our mother. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, July 15, 2019 at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Randy Green and Bro. Mickey May officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Chapel from 6pm-8pm. Pallbearers for Ms. Wanda will be Jim Alford, Tim Kitchens, Jeremy Kitchens, Alfred Hall, Joe Key and Terry Evans. Song leader for the service will be Mike Kellett.
