Virginia Ruth Beaven, 74, of Corydon, died Saturday, July 20, 2019, at her home in Corydon. She was born November 18, 1944, in California, to the late Orville Edward “Buck” and Ruth Coon Hunter. She was retired from M. Fine and Sons Shirt Factory in New Albany, was formerly employed at Keller Manufacturing Company in Corydon, was a bus aide for the South Harrison Community School Corporation, was a talented sewer and quilter and was regularly involved with the quilting club at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Edward “Cowboy” Beaven. Survivors include her sons, Anthony Wayne Beaven (Kris) and Brian Edward Beaven; her brother, Jack Hunter; her sisters, Betty Lambertus, Brenda Conrad and Linda Maulden; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Dana, Alexandra, Abigail and Zachary; and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Kaylee, Aubrey, Brooklyn and Grant. Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.
