Virginia’s Obituary Virginia Lynn Goble Farrell, age 59, passed away Thursday July 11, 2019 at Dixie Regional Hospital in St George, UT, surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 7, 1959 in Cedar City, UT to Victoria Butcher Goble and Thomas Ray Goble. She grew up in Cedar City and Las Vegas. She was the oldest of many siblings. Virginia attended and graduated from Sunset High School in Las Vegas on June 10, 1977. She went to modelling school and also graduated from the Merle Norman Cosmetology School and another cosmetology school to do make-up and hair for the stars. She would do hair for all the girls in the family. Before moving back to Cedar to live, she married Kevin James Farrell and they were blessed with two children; a son, Joshua and a daughter, Jessie. Kevin and Virginia later divorced. Virginia and the children moved back to Cedar in the 80’s. She worked several jobs while attending SUU, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology on June 5, 1993. She worked in the social service field for many years and then went back to school, earning her CNA on August 14, 2017. She was a female “jack-of-all-trades”. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Grandpa Butcher, her son Joshua, and among her all-time favorites was Elvis, Gospel and older Country. She was an avid reader, had very strong political views and could debate with the best of them. No matter what she was dealing with she was always there for everyone anytime they needed help; whether they needed kind words, hugs, someone just to listen or even a shoulder to cry on, she was there. Virginia is survived by her children, Joshua (Jennifer) Farrell of Cedar City, UT, and Jessie (Dustin) Medeiros of Las Vegas, NV; her five grandchildren, Colin, Landon, Kami (Bell), Nakoa and Willa; her mother and stepfather, Victoria and Robert Knoche of Cedar City, UT; her siblings, Kim (Lori) Grant of Las Vegas, NV, Steven (Cheryl) Grant of Cedar City, UT, Susan (Paul) LeFevre of Gilbert, AZ, Ronald Grant of Cedar City, UT, Jolyn (Randy) Grant of Hurricane, UT, Debbie of Oregon and Gloria Dawn of UT; many first and second cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:00am at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City, UT). Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Read More
