She was born October 18, 1939 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late William Hensel Mayes and Callie Lena Felts Mayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Randall Lee King; sisters Ina Shupe, Brenda Robke; brother Ronald Mayes. She is survived by her children, Chris Kirby (Dan), Billy King (Dawn), Sheri Rucker (Allan); grandchildren, Scott Kirby, Matt Kirby (Jordan), Brandon King, Chloe Rucker, Callie King, Erin King, Kolby Rucker; great-grandchildren, Hunter Prater, Thea Kirby; sisters, Dora Conley, Lula Jones; brothers, Kenneth Mayes, Buddy Mayes. Mrs. King loved reading and crocheting. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Memorial Hospital 8th Floor Palliative Care Unit for the loving care shown to Mrs. King and her family.
