January 16 1949 July 25 2019
Victor Delbert Dyer was born on January 16, 1949, as the second son of J.C. and Hattie Mae Dyer. He and his brother, Eddie, were born and grew up in Los Angeles, California. J.C. worked at the Good Year Tire factory and Hattie was a master teacher. Victor grew up very close to his mother and to his maternal grandmother, Nellie Mae Talamon. He was an avid participant in a variety of sports with baseball being his favorite over the years. Embracing New Thought teachings, Victor was an early member of the Agape Church in Los Angeles. Over time, it would be those teachings that would positively affect the course of his life. Victor was extremely proud of his two sons, Victor John and Vincent, from his marriage to Vanessa DeCuir. He enjoyed teaching them about sports, coaching, and his favorite hobby, snow skiing. He was most passionate about his grandsons, Vincent’s two sons, Donovin and Chace. In 2010, Victor moved to the Atlanta area. Here, he joined the Trinity Center for Spiritual Living where he made many friends, volunteered, and participated in numerous classes and events. He also met Christine Wood, and the two became engaged in 2017. Victor and Chris moved to Eatonton, Georgia, to enjoy their retirement on Lake Sinclair. They enjoyed their new hobbies of home renovation and boating. Victor made his transition at home in Eatonton on July 25th, where Victor John and Chris were able to care for him and spend valuable time with him. It was Victor’s greatest desire to watch his grandsons grow into the awesome young men they are destined to be. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in Victor’s honor may do so to a college fund for Donovin and Chace Dyer c/o Christine D. Wood, 300 Sinclair Rd., Eatonton, GA 31024. A celebration of life for Victor will be held at the Trinity Center for Spiritual Living, 1095 Zonolite Rd., Atlanta, GA 30306, on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at 2:00pm.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Victor Dyer January 16 1949 July 25 2019.
