Ulvert’s Obituary Marion, VA Ulvert Duty of Buchanan County, VA, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 27, 2019, after losing his battle with cancer. He was born on July 11, 1948 to William and Dicy Wolford Duty. He retired from Walker Transfer in Kenova, WV. He loved his family, friends, guitars and banjos, singing, and everything musical. He also loved flea marketing, coin collecting, and his special beloved cat, “Trader”. He was of Baptist faith and loved God. Survivors include his sons, David Duty of FL , Ronnie Duty and Martha of Chilhowie, VA, Derrick Brooks of Lavelette, WV, Eric Brooks of East Lyn, WV; two daughters, Katherine Sprinkle and Kevin of Marion, VA, Christina Duty of Chilhowie, VA; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Duty of Grundy, VA, Elzie and Helen Duty of Hurley, VA; one sister, Jewel Lester of Hurley, VA; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Ulvert’s caretakers of Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia for their love and care (Ed, Crystal, Sharon, Diana, Megan, Jon, & Dr. Truski). Per Ulvert’s wishes, a private cremation will be held with no services. The family will arrange for a celebration of life memorial service at a later date.
