Sylvia’s Obituary Sylvia M. Lawless, 83, of Coryville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sund ay, July 28, 2019 at her home. She was born November 1, 1935, a daughter to the late John D. and Alaphanie (Griffith) Sisler. She was married to Earl C. Lawless, who preceded her in death on May 1, 2002. Sylvia was a graduate of Ironton High School Class of 1953. She was a former employee of Rock Hill Local Schools and was a retired Case Worker for Lawrence County Department of Job and Family Services. Sib and Earl raised seven children in Coryville, always putting her family first in everything she did. She always enjoyed family gatherings, the holidays (especially Christmas) and the large meals that she prepared for her family. Her daily ride with her youngest son Rex and a cold Pepsi were always the highlight of her day. She also loved and cared for her many furry pets. Sylvia is survived by three daughters; Donna Scott, Judene (Gary) Miller, and Cecelia (Neal) Reynolds, three sons, Faron, Randy (Monica) and Rex (Jennifer), nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son: Earl “Doug” Lawless, two daughters-in-law; Kathi Ellen Lawless and Kathy Jo Lawless, and her sister Donna Kay Carpenter Funeral service will be 1P.M., Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Bro. Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Lawless Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 11AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
