Susan’s Obituary WATERTOWN: Susan (Toffey) Yuravich, 68, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. “Albie” Yuravich Jr. Susan was born in Waterbury on June 9, 1951, daughter of the late Herbert and Julie Toffey. She was a graduate of Wolcott High School, and went on to attend Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, where she met her future husband. After becoming a registered nurse, Susan found her true calling as an antiques dealer. With her husband, she co-owned Albert Joseph & Co. antiques for 40 years, as well as Tillie’s Antiques in Woodbury. A lover of animals, Susan rescued and adopted many beloved dogs and cats throughout her life. She loved to travel, especially to Cape Cod and Palm Springs, Calif., with her dear friends, Jean Reeve and Joann Barthelmess, both of Watertown. She is survived by a son, Albie J. Yuravich III, and his wife Viktoria of Ansonia; a sister, the Rev. Judith Toffey of Watertown; a brother-in-law, Kenneth J. Yuravich and his wife Diane of Anderson, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Mary Celone of Orange; nieces, Christina and Cynthia Celone of Orange; and cousins, including Bob and Pam Toffey of Watertown, Audrey Szczesiul of Enfield, and Elaine McDonnell of Litchfield. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St., in Ansonia. At 11 a.m., a funeral service in celebration of Susan’s life will take place with her sister, the Rev. Judith Toffey, officiating. Private burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.
