Susan Lucille Leuthauser of Robertsville, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri. Susan was born in St. James, Missouri on April 14, 1947, daughter of the late Raymond R. and Lucilla (Decker) Green. Miss Susan Lucille Green married the love of her life Mr. Joel Leuthauser on February 24, 1964. This union was blessed with two children. Susan worked in the Rockwood School District as a cook for several years. She was the Cemeterian for the Oak Ridge Cemetery for many years, and took great pride in making sure the cemetery was taken care of. She also had a pavilion built at the cemetery for families to enjoy when they came out to visit the graves of their deceased. She was very crafty, and enjoyed quilting, making photo albums for all the kids, and grandchildren. She loved being outdoors where she could enjoy camping, and fishing; Susan loved to fish, a quiet lake, a pond, trout fishing at Meramec Park, it did not matter to her, anywhere she could put a line in the water brought her so much pleasure. She also enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers and the wonderful garden she planted each spring; she would plan out the garden, carefully picking out what to plant, she would than share the bounty of her labor with family, and friends; she always made sure she had plenty to freeze and can so that her family could enjoy her harvest all through the year. She adored her family, and especially the grandchildren, she will be lovingly missed by all that knew and loved her. Susan Lucille Leuthauser is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joel Leuthauser, of the home; children, Berry Leuthauser and wife Laura, of Robertsville, MO, and Paula Hinds, of Labadie, MO; grandchildren, Sean Hinds, Kathreen Hinds, Margaret Hinds, and Matthew Spresterbach; great-granddaughter, Lucilla Gann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lucilla Green. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuaries at 11:00 AM with Bradon Leuthauser and Gary Elliot officiating. Internment will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Chapel on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 6-8PM. Memorials are suggested and greatly appreciated to The Oak Ridge Cemetery. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
