Patrick, SC Mrs. Susan Freeman Gainey, age 65, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at her home. Graveside Services will be 5:00 PM Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Society Hill L.D.S. Cemetery, 7899 Patrick – Society Hill Rd, Society Hill, SC. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4:30 PM Sunday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. Mrs. Gainey was born March 29, 1954 in Charlotte, NC a daughter of the late George Hollis and Hannah Lundy Freeman. She was a retired employee of INA Bearing with 28 years of service. Susan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time at the beach. Her favorite pastime was cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Susan was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Gainey; brothers, William “Geno” Freeman, Floyd Freeman; and sister, Theo Tucker. Survivors include her 2 children, Jody (Roddy) Rikard, and Mark E. (Melissa Williams) Tolson both of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Serena, McKenzie, Lyric, Mikayla, Javon, Xavier, and one on the way; great granddaughter, Aubrey; sisters, Kathy (Richard) Ingram of Darlington, SC, Sybil “Ludie” (Jimmy) Brown-Smith of Society Hill, SC, Francine (Eric Wallace) Freeman of Cheraw, SC, and Margaret (Ray) Roscoe of Rockingham, NC; brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Freeman of Patrick, SC, and Raymond (Margaret) Freeman of Patrick, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter, 467 Goodale Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
