Obituary for Sandra “Sandy” Tonkin Sandra “Sandy” Tonkin, 66, of Hubbard, passed on Monday, June 3, 2019 at her residence. She was born on October 4, 1952 in Queens, New York, the daughter of Miles and Margaret Dellinger Bloom. The family relocated to West Middle, Pennsylvania where Sandy attended and graduated from West Middle High School. Gardening, spending time with family and friends and caring for her pets (grand pets, Bentley, Eva and Remi included) were among her favorite pastimes. Sandy was an avid Penn State football fan and loved watching the games. Her ideal travel destination was Folly Beach, South Carolina and the Atlantic Ocean. Cherished memories of Sandy will be carried on by her loving family, her sons, DJ Wilson of West Middle, Pennsylvania and Adam Tonkin of Hubbard, Ohio; her daughter and son-in-law, Simone and Dan Snyder of Dupont, Washington; her only grandchild, Chloe Wilson of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; her siblings, Jim Bloom of West Middle, Pennsylvania and Karen Chalfant of Farrell, Pennsylvania; her ex-husband, Mark Tonkin of Girard, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Lisa Tonkin and her many nieces and nephews that she loved and cared about deeply. Sandy was preceded by her parents, Margaret and Miles Bloom, her brother, Dean Bloom and her beautiful daughter, Markie Tonkin. To honor Sandy, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at West Middle United Methodist Church, 3123 East Main Street, West Middle, Pennsylvania 16159.
