Mrs. Sallie Bennefield, 92 of Quitman passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Bennefield was born August 18, 1926 to the late Gyp & Annie Belle Hill Foxx. She enjoyed reading her bible and was a active member at Hickory Head Church. Mrs. Bennefield also enjoyed traveling and loved working in her garden. Survivors include her children, Steve (Ronda) Hall of Quitman, Danny (Debra) Hall of Quitman, Gary (Nancy) Hall of Quitman, Linda Hall Fuller of Valdosta, Helen Chandler of Lake Park, Barbara (Larry) Roberts of Quitman, Frances (James) Brooks of Greenville, Fl, and Sarah (Darrell) Day of Valdosta; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers, Johnny (Joanna) Foxx of Lee, Fl, and Buddy Foxx of Madison, Fl; and sisters, Juanita Russell of Tallahassee, Fl, Pauline Fender of Madison, Fl, and Caroline Foxx of Port Arthur, TX. Mrs. Bennefield was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Bennefield; previous husband, Steve Hall; brothers, Albert Foxx, and Jake Foxx; and one sister, Gussie Ryland. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Head Church with Pastor Randy Hutto, and Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
