Roy’s Obituary Roy Herbert French, age 90 of Raywick, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 12, 1928 in Taylor County to the late George Washington and Sara Emon Whitlock French. He was a carpenter and formerly worked in construction. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Madelene “Betty” Lamkin French (2015); one daughter, Lisa Botaz; one granddaughter, Kayla Renee French; four brothers and four sisters: Chester French, Walter French, Charlie French, Bill French, Mildred Wheatley, Opal Scott, Bertha French and Dorothy French. Survivors include three daughters, Kim Mattingly (Michael) of Raywick, Kathy Napier (Chris) of Brooks, KY and Beverly Holton (Tony) of Vandalia, Michigan; two sons, Donald French (Retta) of Ligonier, Indiana and Doug French (Kim) of Taylorsville; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Hardin French of Louisville. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 5, 2019 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick. Visitation is 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 PM. Read More
