Rosiland Avent December 03, 1945 – July 27, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Rosiland Avent December 3, 1945-July 27, 2019 Services for Rosiland Avent will be at 11:00 am Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. Mrs. Avent died on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. Rosiland was born in Leflore County on December 3, 1945 to the late Ope Reed and Doris Bearden Muse. She was a long time member of Christ Baptist Church in Greenwood, and loved baking, cooking, creating art with her pottery skills, plants, flowers, attending church, her friends, and most of all her family. She worked at David Hicks Brokerage for 40 years, Viking Range, and finally at the Greenwood-Leflore Airport. She sacrificed her life for the betterment of others. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lewis “Bubba” Avent. She is survived by her two sons, Mitch Avent of Greenwood, MS, and Brad Avent (Amy) of McComb, MS; five grandchildren, Maddie Avent, Brewer Avent, Ayla Avent, Marley Avent, and Lewis Avent; sister, Betty Killebrew; and three brothers, Jimmy Muse, Larry Muse, and Eddie Muse. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the funeral home. The Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Muse, Milan Killebrew, Chris Carter, Richard Carter, Matt Counts and Ronnie Counts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy McGregor, Tyler Hodges, Chris Sowell, and Jim Johnson. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ Baptist Church or Baptist Reynolds Hospice House. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge.
