Mr. Rogers Jackson, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. Rogers Jackson, Jr., 86, who entered eternal rest, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his residence in Washington, LA. Interment will be in St. Mary Baptist Cemetery in Port Barre, LA. Rev. Kyle Sylvester will officiate the service. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Mrs. Rebia T. Jackson of Washington, LA; two daughters, Delilah J. Elmore (Rev. William) and Debbie Johnson (Johnnie) of both of Opelousas, LA; four siblings, Elizabeth Jackson Baldwin of New Orleans, LA, Emma Jackson Thompson of New Orleans, LA, Henry Jackson (Shirley) of Gilmer, TX and Renell Turner of Boston, MA; two grandchildren, Brittany Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA and Kiera J. Moore (Jerry) of Washington, LA; two great grandchildren, Jade Moore and Kaydi Moore; a sister-in-law, Matiel Comeaux of Washington, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, Rogers Jackson, Sr. and Lee Elder Williams Jackson; a brother, Joseph Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Benjamin Baldwin and L J Thompson and four sisters-in-law, Delores S. Jackson, Nora Lee Green, Anna Belle Guillory and Evelyn Robertson. Visiting hours will be observed from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
