Robert’s Obituary Mr. Robert L. Spence passed from this life on Monday morning, July 22, 2019 in LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mr. Robert was born to the union of Robert Franklin and Myrtle Lee (Lambert) Spence in Pineville, Florida (Escambia County). Mr. Robert resided in the Jena Louisiana vicinity where he spent his working career in the Petroleum Industry as a Drilling Superintendent. He was a devoted father, truly loved all his friends, and was a devout Christian. He enjoyed taking his wife fishing in his spare time, and also had a hobby of woodworking. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his children and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his three sons, Robert Spence, Jr. and wife Linda of Jena Louisiana, Terry Spence, and wife Kathy of Manifest Louisiana, Bruce Spence, and wife Amy of Jena Louisiana, two daughters, Janice Nolker, and husband Stephen of Jena Louisiana, Cindy Fitzgerald, and husband Eugene of Jena Louisiana, one sister, Lou Ellen Adams, and husband Max of Goldonna Louisiana. Mr. Robert had 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1.5 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Faye (Dubose) Spence, his parents Robert Franklin and Myrtle Lee Spence, two brothers Horace Spence, and Derbert Spence. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Joseph Spence, Robert Spence III., Matt Spence, Bud Spence, Lynn Spence, and Dustin Spence. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church of Jena, Louisiana starting at 5:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday July 24, 2019 from 10:00AM until service time at Trinity Baptist Church. Services will be held on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church at 2:00PM with Rev. Mike Russell and Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena, Louisiana. Read More
