Robert H. Castle, 94, of Moline, passed away July 18, 2019, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the Greenview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, East Moline, with burial to follow at Greenview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory is assisting the family. Robert was born on October 16, 1924, in Moline, to Arthur and Minnie (Hedeen) Castle. He graduated from Moline High School and was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Combat Engineers in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operations. He went on to attend John Tarleton Agricultural College while in the service and the University of Illinois. He graduated from The Radio School of Broadcasting Technique. He worked as a Continuity writer and Traffic Manager at WQUA radio station, retiring after 33 years. He enjoyed traveling around the world and photography. Survivors include his sister, Vivian Castle and numerous cousins. Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
