Robert’s Obituary Sloansville (Schoharie County): Robert F. Pierce, Sr. 80, of Saddlemire Hill Road, Sloansville, NY passed away Sunday, July 14th at the Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Robert was born January 7, 1939 in Schoharie, NY a son of Lincoln and Sophronia (Liddle) Pierce. He attended Schoharie School until enlisting in the US Navy where he served from 1956 to 1959 before his honorable discharge. He drove truck for P&E Sanitation until his retirement. Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Frances Hope, his three sons; Robert F. Pierce, Jr.(Laurie) of Maine, Scott A. Pierce (Zoe), of Hudson, and Dean A. Pierce (Lorie) of New Mexico, 6 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17th from 10 to 11 AM with a time of sharing memories at 11 AM at the Langan Funeral Home, 195 North Main Street Central Bridge. Interment will be later in the Grosvenor’s Corners Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Robert to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
