Rev. Alfredo E. Chavez, Sr., 82 of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Dorcas (Ayling) Chavez with whom he shared over 52 years of loving marriage. Born in Huayaucito, Peru, he was the son of the late Gustavo and Lorenza (Escalante) Chavez. He was the Spanish Minister of Central Assembly of God Church, Bethlehem for 28 years until retiring. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Dorcas, he will be remembered by his sons Alfredo E. Chavez, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Bethlehem, Dario Chavez and his wife Rebekah of Allentown, Christian Chavez and his wife Shelli of Allentown; 7 loving grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Fransisco Chavez and Artur Chavez. Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Central Assembly of God, 1300 Eaton Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. Alfredo’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
