Ray Keifer, age 80 years old went home Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Vanderbilt Hospital following a brief illness. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Newport Rescue Squad for 52 years, and retired from the Newport Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was a 51 year Mason, a member of the Blue Lodge Scottish Rite, Shriner, and Circus Daddy. He attended the Parrottsville Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Mildred Keifer; and his twin brother, Roy Keifer. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wanda Keifer; son, Chris Keifer (Sheila), granddaughter, Hilary (Toby) Yokley, grandson, Corey Keifer (Jaymie), brother, Hal Keifer, sister, Patricia Dyke; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, and his very special fur baby, Benji. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital, Kingswood School, Parrottsville Church of God or another charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Monday, June 24, 2019 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Franklin Wine and Mark Renner officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
