Philip H. Sorrell December 12, 1935 – July 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mr. Philip Sorrell, age 83 of Meansville passed away July 24, 2019. Mr. Sorrell was a former member of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. He later joined the Georgia National Guard where he was called to service in Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Sorrell worked as a machinist for Dundee Mills in Griffin until his retirement, and was a member of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his wife: Gladys M. Sorrell and children: John Philip Sorrell, Linda Sue Sorrell and Glenn Scott Sorrell . He is survived by his son: Gary Wayne Sorrell, Sr. of Meansville and daughter: Sheila Sorrell Watson of Griffin, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle with Dr. Joe Arthur and Pastor Chris Watson officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Westwood Memorial Gardens in Griffin with Rev. Jack Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle.
