Mrs. Peggy Jean Porter, age 82, of Greenville, GA, formerly of Powder Springs passed away July 9, 2019. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday at 12:00pm at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens with Nephew Vann Headley officiating. Preceded in death by: Husband – Corkey Porter; Son – Eddie Porter Survivors include: Daughter – Teresa Cole and Mark Wallace of Greenville, GA; Sisters – Patty Headley of Clanton, AL and Joanne Sims of Maplesville, AL; Sister-in-law – Peggy Cranford of Powder Springs; 2 Grandchildren – Sharon and Steve Maddox of Acworth and Shelley and Scott Freeman of Greensville; 5 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews Mrs. Porter was a member of First Baptist Church Powder Springs and worked for Marietta Daily Journal for over 22 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to uso.org in honor of her great grandsons currently serving in the United States Military or First Baptist Church Powder Springs.
