“Loving Wife And Mother Who Walked With God” Nora Ellen Kimball, 89, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Monday, July 8, 2019 at her home in Crista Shores Assisted Living in Silverdale, Washington. Nora Ellen was born June 2, 1930 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Homer and Fay (Skaggs) McNabb. She was the second of four children and always referred to as “Nor’Ellen” by her loving family. Her “Daddy” also used to call her “Cotton” for her bright blonde hair. Nora Ellen grew up in Purcell and Lexington, Oklahoma then moved with her family to Oklahoma City where she attended Crooked Oak High School. She dearly loved her “Mother” and “Daddy” and cherished every family member and gathering. She married her husband of 70 years, Richard “Dick” L. Kimball, June 25th, 1949 in the Oklahoma City Baptist Church. She was a godly, devoted, loving wife and mother to four children; Bruce, Greg, Charlotte and Barbara. Her relationship with Jesus was very important to her, and she faithfully attended the Evangelical Churches in Wichita, Kansas and Federal Way, Washington. Burley Bible Church was her home church in Port Orchard, Washington for over 30 years. Nora Ellen was a strong believer in Jesus and a faithful mom who led the way for her husband and children to be “saved.” She was a lifelong wife and homemaker who also enjoyed caring for other’s children in her own home. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily, listening to music, and was an avid reader later in life. She found great joy in, and couldn’t resist browsing yard sales and thrift stores for special bargains. Nora Ellen is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” L. Kimball of Port Orchard, WA., four children; R. Bruce (Julie) Kimball of Kent, WA., Gregory A. Kimball of Kamiah, ID., Charlotte A. Kimball of San Antonio, TX., and Barbara Ellen (Bret) Willis of Port Orchard, WA.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her family in Norman, OK.; a sister, Glenna (Troy) Millsap, cousin “best friend,” Billie Buford and two sister-in-law’s; June and Virginia McNabb. Nora Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Fay McNabb, and two brothers; James (June) McNabb and Jerry (Virginia) McNabb. The Kimball family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the staff at Crista Shores and Stafford Suites for their attentive and loving care of our precious mom. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 3 at 2:00 p.m., at Burley Bible Church, 14687 Olympic Dr. SE, Port Orchard, WA.
