Mildred Inez Duncan Pitts, 91, widow of Lewis W. Pitts, passed away July 25, 2019. A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Walker Ernest Duncan, Sr. and Roah Powell Duncan, she was a retired nurse and a member of Faith Temple. Surviving are two sons, William E. “Bill” Horton of Lyman and Jimmy Horton of Greer; two brothers, Walker E. Duncan, Jr. of Blue Ridge and John L. Duncan of Greer; one sister, Lora Price of Greer; one granddaughter, Christina H. Shaw of West Columbia; and two great-grandchildren, PFC Jacob Shaw, USMC and Holland Shaw. Mrs. Pitts was predeceased by one brother, Jessie W. Duncan and four sisters, Althea Edwards, Obenia Reeves, Molly Duncan and Mattie Duncan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Raymond Burrows. Burial will follow in Duncan Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duncan Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3340 Oneal Church Road, Greer, SC 29651.
