He was a native of Monroe, Michigan, A long time resident of East Brewton, Alabama, before moving to Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Updike was a member of the Brewton Church of Christ and The Mobile Port City Church of Christ, A graduate of W.S. Neal High School, Worked at Exxon Corp for 20 years and retired from SSAB Steel Mill in 2017. He enjoyed quail hunting, fresh and salt water fishing. Survivors: Mother- Martha Nell Mantel Updike of East Brewton, Alabama (2) Daughters- Allison Updike of Semmes, Alabama Katy Updike (Jason) Andews of Mobile, Alabama (2) Brothers- Steven Updike of East Brewton, Alabama Robert Updike of Hohenwald, Tennessee (1) Sister- Linda Updike McGhee of East Brewton, Alabama (1) Granddaughter- Joshlyn Clark A number of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon July 13, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME BREWTON, ALABAMA.
