Meri Lyn (Edwards) Bennett, 70, of Charlevoix, passed away on July 10, 2019, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire, MI. Meri Lyn was born on September 23, 1948 in Charlevoix, MI, to Richard and Eileen (Anderson) Edwards. On May 24, 1998, she married Martin Bennett who survives. She spent many years working at North Central Michigan College as a cashier, where many people knew and loved her. Meri Lyn loved antiques, fishing, camping, riding in the “hot rod,” and so much more. She especially enjoyed her time with her granddaughter Ava. Meri Lyn will be remembered for her caring soul, kind heart, and giving nature. Surviving Meri Lyn are her husband, Martin Bennett, her ex-husband and father of her children, Gary Kanoff, her mother, Eileen (Anderson) Edwards, two children, Branden Kanoff and Krista Kanoff, granddaughter Ava Berlage, brother Larry Edwards, and father in law Stanley Bennett. She was preceded in death by her Father Richard, and her mother in law Connie (Thomas) Nachazel. A gathering and potluck of family and friends will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Depot Beach Pavillion, 307 Chicago Ave., Charlevoix, MI 49720 Arrangements have been handled by the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
