Melvin was born to Mitchell Sr. and Hattie Walden who preceded him death as well as two brothers Mitchell Jr. and Michael Walden. Melvin was a Christian and was a member of Iglesia Cristiana Oasis de Vida and truly enjoyed service there. Melvin graduated from Hampton High School, and Norfolk State University. Melvin retired from Virginia School of hair design in 2014 where he was a Cosmetology Instructor. Melvin leaves to cherish his memory a nephew Mitchell Walden III (Denise) and a longtime companion Karl Minor. A graveside service and internment will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 @ Hampton Memorial Gardens in Hampton, VA. Viewing begins at 11:30am and the service start at 12noon.
