Mary’s Obituary Mary Agnes Gutheil, 91, of Brighton, Colorado passed away on July 18, 2019. Mary, the oldest of four children, was born to born John M. and Hanna M. (Shanahan) McCarty on June 17, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary moved to Colorado in 1971 and has lived in the Brighton area for over 30 years. She worked primarily as a bookkeeper in a variety of industries until the time of her retirement. Mary loved to read and especially enjoyed mysteries. She also liked to sew, knit, and crochet. She is survived by her children Mary Ellen, Judith, Richard and Stephen as well as 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her sister Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers James and John, and her son John Harmon Gutheil. Mary will be remembered at services on Friday, July 26 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 675 E. Egbert St., Brighton.
