Mary Evelyn’s Obituary Mary Evelyn Boyd-Crickmer, 72, of Hollywood, MD died on July 24, 2019, at her home, on Steer Horn Neck Road, in Hollywood, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late William Dunbar Boyd M.D. and Lorraine Noonan Boyd and was born in Washington, DC on December 18, 1946. Mary Evelyn attended St. Mary’s Academy, Marymount High School and the University of Maryland. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Keenan Crickmer along with her two daughters, Kristine Marie Knott (Kent), Gwendolyn Ann Beverly and her two step daughters Christine Youmans (Jimmy), Stacy Crickmer (Damian) and her grandchildren, Brittany Gilbert D.V.M., Steven and Kara Knott, Garrett Thomas, Dean and Brayden Beverly, and Zachary and Megan Youmans. She is also survived by her brothers, William Dunbar Boyd II M.D. (Duffy) and James Carroll Boyd M.D. (Jennifer) and her sister, Lorraine Noonan Boyd Brewer “Bunny” (Rick), all of whom reside in St. Mary’s County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William Boyd and Lorraine Agnes Boyd, as well as her grandchild, Caitlyn Youmans. For over 22 years Mary Evelyn worked for the Southern Maryland Electric Company (SMECO) engineering department in Hughesville, Maryland. She was an avid scuba diver with a PADI certification, a member of the St. Mary’s County Historic Society, the Greenwell State Park Foundation, the Sotterley Foundation, and the founder of the Chaptico Girl Friend’s Society Club. Mary Evelyn and her husband, Tom, had an enjoyable life together living on the Patuxent River. She always enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home and taking care of her horses, doggies and cats. She and Tom frequented Cozumel, Mexico for their scuba diving and also enjoyed many fascinating trips traveling within the US, Europe and the Caribbean. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650, where a prayer service will be at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 29119 Point Lookout Road, Morganza, MD 20660.
