Mark Allen Heisel, age 68, of Elk River, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Mark was born January 3, 1951, in Moline, Illinois to Herbert and Ruth Heisel. Mark was married to Gail Heisel on November 11, 1978. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with two children: Dan and Melinda. In 1981 Mark began working for EH Renner. What started out as a part-time position became a life-long job until he retired in 2016. Mark enjoyed tinkering with all things big and small. He loved spending time outdoors anytime of the year. He spent numerous hours perfecting his yard in the summer. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ruth Heisel. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Gail Heisel, his children, Daniel (Jennifer) Heisel, Melinda (Tom) Morin, his brothers, Steve (Roseanne) Heisel, Tim (Diane) Heisel, sister Jewel Zwack, grandchildren Alice Heisel, Emmett Heisel, Benjamin Morin, and Emilie Morin, and many nieces and nephews. Mark will be especially remembered as the guy who would help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service is currently being planned to celebrate his life with family and friends.
