Surrounded by her family, Lucy Ann (Bianca) Tkacz entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 26, 2019. Lucy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Cifalu) Bianca. A lifelong resident of New Britain, Lucy graduated from New Britain High School in 1943. Lucy was employed at Raphael’s Department Store, Kresky’s, Fafnir Bearing Company and Cousins Bakery. In addition, Lucy volunteered as a teacher’s aide and lunch aide at Israel Putnam School. She was also an active member of the New Britain Chapter of AARP, New Britain Senior Center, New Britain Music Club, Fafnir Seniors and the Italian Fraternal Society. A former parishioner of St. Ann’s Church, Lucy was involved with the Ladies Guild, the annual Feast of St. Ann and St. Ann’s school. Prior to her passing, Lucy was a member of Lighthouse Family Worship Center (formerly New Britain Church of God) where she served the Lord in various ministries throughout her years. Lucy’s heart was full of love and compassion and she shared those qualities in so many ways with so many people. Lucy is survived by her son John Tkacz and twin daughters Luann T. Davis and Annmarie Tkacz, brother Sebastian Bianca and sister Josephine Marchinski, sisters-in-law Sylvia Hamm and Carmel Tkacz as well as several nieces and nephews. Lucy was predeceased by her husband, John Tkacz, sister Angela, brothers-in law, Joseph Tkacz, Sr., Andrew Tkacz, Frank Hamm, Edward Staranchak, sisters-in-law Fannie Bianca, Olga Staranchak, Olga Tkacz and Marian Yawin. A celebration of Lucy’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, July 31, 2019 at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT. Calling hours will be TUESDAY, JULY 30, 2019 from 4-7 pm and WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 2019 from 9:30 -10:00 am at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT. To extend condolences to the Tkacz family or to share a memory of Lucy, please visit SHAKERFUNERALHOME.COM.
